I'm not a Dad yet.

But I hope to be one day. For quite sometime now, I have been observing people, places, situations and ideas that make me stop and think, "One day, I may have a son or daughter who will encounter this. I hope that when they do, I will have equipped them well enough to handle it." So I began writing things down and keeping them in a journal so that they will have them in case I forget.

This isn't a parenting journal. I have no idea what it is like to be a parent. But I do know that at every phase of my life, I have always felt a little out of my depth. Every phase of life is a phase that is new when you're going through it. And right when you finally get the hang of the one thing, it seems that a new phase is already upon you, and you begin learning again. So this journal has been a learning experience for me. I've learned a lot about myself and about the world by thinking about what I'd want my own children to learn from me. Hopefully, it will be something that means something to them.

If it might mean something to someone in the meantime, all the better. That is why I am sharing it with you. Thanks for stopping by--enjoy your visit.
